Burro Banana

Burro bananas also called the Chunky Banana, are a smaller, stubbier version of the typical Cavendish banana. In some countries, bananas used for cooking may be called plantains. Burro bananas are more squared in shape than common yellow bananas. When ripe, the skin is yellow with black spots and the flesh is creamy white. It has a tangy, lemon-banana flavor and is generally soft, getting firmer towards the center. The fruits grow in clusters hanging from the top of the plant. Bananas are what many nutritionists refer to as a super food. They are low in fat and high in energy, with lots of potassium, fiber and vitamin B-6.
